Why Bat Sleeps Upside Down
A charming and gentle story about a bat who dislikes noise and light, seeking the perfect quiet spot to sleep. Through simple, rhythmic text and playful scenarios, young readers learn about finding comfort and peace in unexpected places. Suitable for early readers and bedtime sharing.
Long ago, Bat slept like everyone else—on the ground, curled up, dreaming.
But Bat had a problem.
He hated noise. He hated light. He really hated both.
Birds chirped. Frogs croaked. The sun blazed.
“Too loud!” he groaned. “Too bright!”
He tried hiding in a log. Knock knock! Woodpecker woke him.
He hid under a leaf. SPLASH! Elephant stepped on it.
He built a nest in the grass. SQUISH! Hippo sat on it.
“Bat, you need better ideas,” said Owl.
So Bat flew high—into a dark cave.
“Ahh… peace,” he whispered.
But the cave floor was rocky. Bumpy. Ouchy.
Then he spotted a beam. Way up. Safe. Still.
He flew up and grabbed it—tight.
“Wait…” he mumbled. “I’m upside down!”
He blinked. He swayed. He… snored.
When he woke up, he felt amazing!
No light. No sound. No stomping butts.
From that day on, Bat slept upside down—in calm, quiet, cozy darkness.
(Just so you know—this tale is for fun. Bats don’t need silence to flip out!)
