In the garage, Ben was greasing the gears of a gleaming green go-kart. Clank! A gadget popped off and rolled away. “Oops! That wasn’t supposed to happen,” he groaned.

Max, Lily, and Tom ran in to see what had happened. “Wow, can we give it a go?” Max gasped. “Hop in! It won’t go far… probably,” Ben chuckled.

“I still need to fix the gasket and gearbox,” Ben said. He wandered out to get more tools, tripping over the extension cord on the way.

Max grabbed the steering wheel. Tom opened his Go-Kart Guidebook for Great Racers. Lily tested the gadgets and gauges. “All gadgets are go!” she said.

Suddenly, Max’s whiskers tingled. His ears gave an excited twitch. A golden, glowing rabbit hole appeared ahead.

Max grinned at Lily and Tom. “Let’s hop to it!” he said. With a roaring vroom, the go-kart and the three rabbits leapt into the rabbit hole.

They landed on a grand racetrack. A grinning goat sat in a go-kart on one side. A green gecko was on the other.

“Welcome to the Great Go-Kart Gala!” boomed the announcer. The go-kart’s radio crackled to life with Lily’s voice. “Max, I’ll guide you with the gadgets!”

Tom looked at his guidebook. “My guidebook says the best way to win is to pace your laps and protect the engine,” he said. “I’ll keep the engine going! You just drive, Max!”

The race began! Max glided past the goat, then zipped past the gecko. Suddenly... Clunk! The go-kart stopped.

The goat and gecko raced ahead. “Tom! We’ve got trouble!” Max called. “My guidebook says there’s something wrong with the gasket,” Tom replied.

Tom turned a gear, just like in the picture. “Give it gas now!” he called. Max pressed the pedal and the go-kart roared to life.

Max caught up to the goat and gecko. “Big left turn ahead!” Lily said. “Press the green gadget button when I say go!”

“Go!” Lily shouted. With a gleeful grin, Max gave the green button a press and a carrot booster grew from the go-kart! Max zoomed across the finish line first!

The crowd cheered loudly. The announcer gave Max a glittering gold trophy. The glowing rabbit hole appeared again. “Time to bounce back!” Max said.

With a gentle whoosh, they were back in the garage. Ben stared at the trophy. “Where’d this grand gift come from?” Max, Lily, and Tom giggled. “That’s a great, gadget-filled story!”
