Max opens a cafe to cook lunch for his wild animal friends!
Max jumped out of bed. "Yay! It’s safari day!" he shouted. He got his backpack and his safari hat.
"I'm ready for a big adventure!" Max cheered as he skipped out the door, full of excitement.
Max saw a huge lion under a tree. "Hello, Mr. Lion!" Max waved. "How are you today?" The lion said, “Mmm, I’m a little hungry, Max. Got any snacks?”
Just then, a big tiger jumped out from behind the bushes! "I’m hungry too!" The tiger said, licking his lips.
Max said, "I’ve got some crunchy carrots in my backpack! Want to share them with me?" The lion and the tiger shook their heads. "No, thank you! We only eat meat!"
Max had an idea! "I’ll open a cafe and cook some yummy food for you!" said Max. "Yes please!" said the tiger. "A cafe sounds delicious!"
Max set up a shop with a sign: Max’s Safari Cafe! “What’s on the menu?” asked the lion.
Max said, “I’ve got beef, lamb, chicken, and bacon. What would you like?" The lion rubbed his belly. "I’ll have beef, please!" The tiger licked his whiskers. "I’ll have chicken!"
Just then, two more animals came up! A hippo and a zebra. "We’re starving!" the hippo said. "What’s for lunch?"
Max said, “I have beef, lamb, chicken, and bacon. Would you like to order?"
“No, thank you!” said the hippo and the zebra. "We only eat plants! No meat for us!"
Max thought and thought. "Aha!" he shouted. "I can make you a big, yummy grass salad!"
The hippo and the zebra jumped up and down. “Yay! We’d love that, Max!” they said together.
Max the chef quickly got to work! He made beef for the lion, chicken for the tiger, and a grass salad for the hippo and zebra.
The animals all sat down at the cafe with big smiles, ready to eat! “Yum!” said the lion. The hippo and zebra both grinned. "This salad is the best!"
“Thank you, Max! You’re the best chef in the world!”
Max smiled, “I’m so glad you all liked it! I love cooking for my new friends.” It was the best safari day ever!
