A charming fable about a clever crow who outsmarts a sneaky snake threatening her eggs. Through wisdom and quick thinking, the crow ensures safety for her family, teaching children the value of brains over brawn in a gentle, engaging narrative.
A crow built her nest in a tall tree. Each spring, she laid eggs and waited to be a mother.
But in a hole below lived a snake. A hungry, sneaky snake.
When the crow left to find food, the snake slithered up and swallowed her eggs.
When she returned, the nest was empty. Again and again.
The crow cried. “That snake is stealing my family!”
She asked the owl, “Should I fight him?”
The owl said, “You have no fangs. Use your brain.”
So the crow thought and thought. Then she smiled. “I have a plan.”
The next morning, the queen of the land went to bathe. She took off her gold necklace and placed it on a stone.
While no one looked, the crow swooped down and stole it!
The guards shouted, “Stop! Thief!”
The crow flew low—right over the snake’s hole—and dropped the necklace in.
The guards chased her, saw the shiny gold—and the hissing snake!
They dug up the hole to get the necklace—and killed the snake.
From that day on, the crow’s eggs were safe.
She raised her chicks in peace, high in the tree.
And the owl said, “You see? Wisdom has wings.”
The crow nodded. “Fighting isn’t always winning.”
And even the wind whispered, “Be clever, not cruel.”
Because a smart mind can outfly the sharpest fangs.
