It was Monday and Max was excited. Today was his first day at Reptile School!

Max walked into class to meet his new teacher, Mr. Lizard. Mr Lizard was nice, but forgetful.

On Monday Mr Lizard cried out, “I’ve dropped my glasses in the river!” “I’ll help!” Max shouted, but he couldn’t swim very well!

Timmy the turtle dove into the river. “I've got them!” “Thank you Timmy,” said Mr Lizard.

On Tuesday, Mr. Lizard said, “I’ve lost the key to this box, but I need to open it!”

“I’ll help!” Max said, pulling on the lid, but the box wouldn’t budge!

Conner the crocodile put the box in his jaws and CRACK! He bit the lid right open. “Thank you Conner,” said Mr Lizard.

On Wednesday, Mr. Lizard looked confused. “I lost my lunch! I set it down... somewhere…”

“I’ll help!” Max said, twitching his nose. But even with all his sniffing, he could not find the lunch.

Sally the snake slid behind a tree… and returned with a sandwich! “Thank you Sally,” said Mr Lizard.

On Thursday, Mr. Lizard groaned. “I have so many books to return to the library! I need help!”

“I’ll help!” Max said. But his arms weren’t long enough! Books started falling everywhere!

Tilly the tortoise put the books neatly on her shell, and slowly carried them to the library. “Thank you Tilly,” said Mr Lizard.

On Friday, Max was sad. “Everyone else is good at something, but I’m no help at all. I have no special skill.”

Suddenly Mr Lizard shouted. “Help! My glasses are buried in the dirt! We need someone to dig them out!”

Max’s ears perked up. “I’m great at digging!” he said, hopping over as fast as he could.

Dig-dig-dig! Max found the glasses! Mr. Lizard smiled. “Thank you, Max! Everyone has a special skill. Even you!”

On Saturday, Max threw a big party for his new reptile friends. They spent the day celebrating everyone’s special skills.

On Sunday, Max started packing his school bag! “I can’t wait to go back to school on Monday!”
