Policeman Max was sitting on a pillow, ready to eat pizza, when the phone rang.

The voice on the phone said, "Max, come quickly to the park! Someone has stolen the P!"

Max jumped into his patrol car. He raced to the park.

Max saw the problem straight away. Someone had taken the letter P from the park sign.

Max searched the playground, but he couldn’t find the missing letter P.

Suddenly, he noticed a pretty, purple feather on the path. "I’ve found a clue!" He said proudly.

“A bird from this park took the letter P. But which bird was it?" said Max.

Max asked the pigeons. "Did you take the letter P?" "It wasn't us!" said the pigeons.

Max asked the peacocks. "Did you take the letter P?" "It wasn't us!" said the peacocks.

Max asked the parrots. "Did you take the letter P?"

"Yes!" the parrots said. "The letter P is the perfect shape to build our nest."

"You can’t take letters from signs. I have an idea that could help!" said Max.

Max drove back to the police station, where he picked up his pillow. Then, he drove back to the park.

He gave the pillow to the parrots. "This pillow is perfect for building a nest!" the parrots said.

Max placed the letter P back where it belonged. Everything was perfect again!
